Although their clients had always considered Isom's
work to be of the highest standard, without the ISO 9000 (At that
time it was BS5750) quality assurance mark, it was difficult to
develop their market to include some of the biggest users of high
standard Technical Documentation. Isom decided to use the slack
period to work towards ISO 9000 and had little difficulty in understanding
the jargon of the standard. Within five months of starting Isom
had achieved accreditation.
At that time, it seemed there were many rogue consultants
making a living by supplying QA systems that were over large and
complicated for the user. Isom decided their experience could help
companies understand the requirements of ISO 9000 and decided
to write their own guide to the Standard -Isom's Quality
Handbook. This publication describes in simple English what
is required to fulfill each clause of the standard, illustrated
by examples from their own Quality System.
